Family Assistance Programme

Kedesh offers clients an opportunity to involve their families in their treatment, through the Family Assistance Programme. For further information about this programme, click here.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) How can I contact a client at Kedesh?

Phone:

Clients residing at Kedesh are not permitted to receive phone calls. All clients have access to a payphone from which they are able to make outgoing calls. If you would like to contact a resident, you may phone the treatment facility, and select “leave a message for a client” from the phone menu.

Because we are required to maintain the confidentiality of our clients, Kedesh staff are not able to provide information about clients without permission from the client. This means that if you call Kedesh regarding a current client, the staff member answering the phone will say the following:

“Due to confidentiality, we are unable to confirm or deny that a person by that name is a client of this service.”

At this point, you may ask to leave a message for a client. The staff member will then take the message and pass it on to the client, who will be able to return your call via the payphone.

If you wish to make an enquiry about the progress of a client in the programme, the staff member will then take your phone number, and return your call if we have permission from the client to do so. This is to ensure that information about clients is provided only to people whom our clients have permitted us to give it.

Mail:

Current clients are able to receive mail via our post office box.

2) Am I able to drop off some belongings to a resident?

Because clients are not permitted to have visitors, if you would like to deliver something to a client of the service (for example, clothing, cigarettes, or a gift) you will need to bring it to the Kedesh Admissions Centre. It can then be delivered to the client by Kedesh staff.

The following items will not be accepted on behalf of clients:

  • Mouthwash and nail polish remover
  • Mobile Phones
  • Any item that can be classified as a weapon
  • Cameras (due to confidentiality)
  • Items considered offensive (e.g. clothing with explicit references)
  • Any DVDs
  • Pirated CDs
  • Open lit flames, candles, oil burners and oils
  • Electrical equipment of any kind
  • Valuables. No responsibility will be taken for theft or breakage of personal items.

3) When can I see a client while they are residing at Kedesh?

Kedesh is firmly committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of our clients. To this end, we do not permit clients residing at Kedesh to have visitors on Kedesh premises at any time. It is possible, however, to see a current Kedesh resident while they are on leave from the programme. Click here for full details on what kinds of leave clients are eligable for.
